Legend Company is conducting research and development projects designed to make a significant impact in human-to-human and human-to-computer communications the way spoken words and text are written, typed, and transcribed.

We are collaborating with major institutions such as Education Development Center, Boston University and Easter Seals to investigate how EasyScript/ComputerScript can enhance the following applications:

• Assistive typing technology to improve computer access for people with physical and cognitive disabilities
  
• Real time speech-to-text translation of the spoken language for deaf and hard hearing individuals
  
• Braille system for visually impaired to improve access for people who are blind or whose eyesight is not sufficient for reading printed material

• Academic speed note taking to improve learning, comprehension and scholastic achievement
  
• Speed note taking at meetings, on the phone and in school
  
• Designing non-alphabetic based abbreviation method to learn quickly and attain a writing speed of 200 wpm
  
• Handwriting speed increases utilizing abbreviations to improve legibility and motivation to write

• Adapting EasyScript/ComputerScript to various platforms and applications such as pen, portable and handheld computers, cellular devices, electronic email and messaging
  
• Typing in an abbreviated form to increase speed for data input applications when large volumes of product and customer data are entered
  
• Developing computer software to transcribe alphabetical abbreviations
  
• Developing computer software to transcribe non-alphabetic abbreviations

• Enhance structure, organization and retrieval of terminology (medical, legal and other) kept in an abbreviated form

• To improve and simplify computer macro language for various platforms such as Windows, Unix, Linux, Macintosh, and other platforms where it might be applicable.
